15k - 05-27-2025

Run: 15k, in 1 hour, 27 minutes. 5'49" per k

Eventhough I had a rough go with a 15k distance last week, due to my own stupidity, here I'm back at it again. The conditions couldn't be better; a light wind, 4 to 6C, and a clear sky.

I choose what has been a common 15k route that takes me to the North end of Okotoks climbing most of the way and then a decent back to the house. While I feel a bit spent on the hills, for the most part I felt like I held a descent enough pace. As I started out, I could hear myself saying, "keep this round around 6 minutes per k." With a 5:49 average, I consider that success.

I didn't really have any stops that due to tiredness, but rather a scheduled bathroom break was the rest that I needed. The funny part is by the time I got there, I was rather in the groove and should have just ploughed on as it took a good amount of time to get back up to speed.

This run includes several hills, and one long slight hill is usually what cuss out. Strangely today it was okay. Persepctive is everthing. I trundle home after the slight hill, meeting a friend along the path to share run stories and part ways for the last kilometre.

Run review: Satisfying run, 5'49"/k.
