Run: 5k in 28 minutes or something like that.
A short, quick, purposeful run. When my wife told me that I would not have a running partner, I decided to take my go to quick 5k route. It's an easy route that takes me from the house through downtown Okotoks and back with a small hill about 1k from the house.
I get to that spot about a kilometre from home only to realize that the town is doing some construction that blocks my usual path. Plan B! So I keep running to something that we affectionally call "wasp hill" and head down the hill to rejoin my usual route. I get back on my usual route to find that I'm about .5k ahead of where I am usually in the route. This is a good thing as I'm in a hurry so I keep to the route with a small modification that should take about .5k out of the normal route.
28 minutes or so later I have navigated this modified route feeling rather tired but another run is in the books at least. As we say, what's in Strava is truth.
Run review: Bordering on a slog along with the thrill of some quicker sections.
